Java Developer

Java developer required to join a young and highly-successful team developing our XBRL and XML products and systems. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute at every stage of the product development lifecycle from interpreting requirements through to design, implementation, testing and release.

We require an excellent academic record (2:1 or better from a good university). In addition, candidates should have strong Java and a very good understanding of OO principles, a talent for problem-solving and the ability to pick up complex new technologies extremely quickly. Although prior XML experience would be a bonus, successful candidates will be expected to gain an in-depth knowledge of XML, XML Schema and related standards within a short period of joining.

Senior Java Developer

Senior Java developer required to play a key product development and technical consulting role for the company's major corporate and public sector clients. This role will involve working on projects of national importance.

The successful candidate will play an important part in clarifying requirements with the customer, as well as leading design and development activities, providing strong technical leadership and mentoring junior developers.

You will have an excellent academic background (2:1 or better from a good university) and a minimum of 4 years commercial experience. You should be able to demonstrate experience with the design and development of large, performance-critical systems. Key skills include: Java, XML, OO Design (including Design Patterns), Eclipse, Unit Testing, JUnit. You should be familiar with working in an Agile / XP environment and be comfortable with Linux. Consulting experience or prior working with government agencies is beneficial.
