e-Government interoperability

e-GIF

The e-Government Interoperability Framework (e-GIF) specifies the technical standards that shall be used by UK central and local government departments to build interoperable systems. Use of the e-GIF is mandated by the Office of the e-Envoy for the UK public sector.

For most UK public sector bodies, the e-GIF defines the technologies that should be used in developing online services, internet-based systems, and when integrating systems with the Government Gateway.

DecisionSoft is the UK's leading developer of the XML-based technologies which form the core of the e-GIF. We have been closely involved in the development of the Government Gateway and the creation of the e-GIF itself. We offer a number of services to local authorities and other public sector bodies looking to meet their e-government targets for 2005, including:

• Managed service for the development and deployment of XML Schemas for e-services, for individual authorities or consortia, and for submission to the Office of the e-Envoy for central approval
