Some corporate information for the curious

History

DecisionSoft is a privately-held company, founded in 1997 with the aim of exploiting XML technology. The Company's early efforts went into exploring the possibilities presented by transcoding. The language XML Script was developed explicitly to tackle this problem. In 2000, DecisionSoft made its first significant sale when it was awarded a contract to provide the UK's Inland Revenue with an XML metadata repository and validation service. Similar deals have followed with other UK Government departments. DecisionSoft has now established itself as a UK leader in XML technology. Its commitment to its customers and its in-depth technical skills have driven significant top-line growth over the past 18 months. It recorded its first profitable year in 2001.

Management

DecisionSoft is led by an experienced and versatile management team. Chairman Philip Allen has over 20 years' experience in corporate finance and software. Prior to founding DecisionSoft, he worked for 10 years in CATS, a company that specialised in software for supporting trade in OTC financial derivatives. Philip spent much of his time at the company's HQ in Palo Alto, assisting in the company's IPO in 1995. Peter Day joined DecisionSoft as CEO in June 1999. Peter's 35 years in the software and IT industry previously included working as CEO of Rolfe & Nolan, a publicly owned software development organisation. Under his leadership, Rolfe & Nolan grew to become the world's leading supplier of transaction management software for financial derivatives.
